The Church and Monastery of Santa Chiara Oristano is located in the heart of the city of Eleonora, immersed in the fascinating and ancient alleys that for centuries characterize Oristano.
Built in 1343 by King Pietro III d’Arborea, the Church and Monastery of Santa Chiara Oristano has been able to maintain its appearance almost intact over the years, thanks to the shelter sheltered by the weather and the care of the Clarisse Sisters.
Gothic architecture, The Church and Monastery of Santa Chiara, preserves in all its splendour the apse and many parts of the ancient monastery. Also with careful observation, you can still admire Arborensi emblems alternating with those of the Aragona family.
Inside the Church of Santa Chiara there is a beautiful fresco of Mariano IV, which invokes the protection of Santa Chiara for his son, Ugone III, under a beautiful marble tombstone where the funerary epigraph is carved.
